The Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek Allah’s protection for his grandsons, Hasan and Husain, with the following words:
أُعِيذُكُمَا بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
Transliteration: U‘eedhukumaa bi kalimaatillaahit-taammati min kulli shaytaanin wa haammah, wa min kulli ‘aynin laammah.

Dua When You Admire Something to Prevent Nazar
The Prophet (ﷺ) taught that if one sees something they admire, they should say:
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ فِيهِ (Allahumma barik fihi)
Translation: O Allah, bless it.
This prevents any unintended harm due to envy.
Other Protective Measures in Islam
- Recite Morning & Evening Azkar: Regularly reciting the daily morning and evening adhkar (supplications) helps in protection against evil.
- Using Ruqyah (Islamic Healing): If affected by the evil eye, performing Ruqyah (recitation of Quranic verses and supplications) can help in recovery.
- Giving Charity: Acts of charity (sadaqah) help remove harm and bring blessings.
Conclusion
Islam teaches us to seek protection through duas and trust in Allah’s will. By reciting the recommended supplications regularly and maintaining a strong connection with Allah, we can safeguard ourselves from the harmful effects of the evil eye.
May Allah protect us all. Ameen.
